Welcome to Kootenai Elementary
Dear Kootenai Families,
I hope you all had a fantastic Thanksgiving and that December is off to a bright and joyful start. The next couple of weeks are filled with engaging learning opportunities and festive celebrations!
Mark your calendars for our Holiday Music Performance on Thursday, December 18th, featuring our talented 3rd and 5th graders. More details will be shared soon—we can’t wait to celebrate their hard work and musical spirit with you.
To spread joy and holiday cheer, we also have a week of Spirit Days leading up to the break! Students are encouraged to participate in festive dress-up each day.
Our 14th Annual Collection for a Cause Fund Drive launches on December 1st. This annual effort helps provide Kootenai families with food support over the Christmas break. If you’d like to contribute—or if your family would benefit from a food box this year—please check the newsletter for more information.
Finally, I want to express my heartfelt gratitude to our incredible families, staff, and community members who make Kootenai such a wonderful place to learn, grow, and thrive. May your holiday season be filled with warmth, love, and joy!
In gratitude,
Jennifer Bicandi, Principal

SEE - TELL - NOW
All schools in Lake Pend Oreille School District utilize See, Tell, Now! -- a Student Threat Reporting System. The anonymous tip line is staffed by trained technicians who receive and evaluate tips 24/7. The tips are screened for accuracy and severity, then assigned to school points of contact or law enforcement, if applicable.
