Greetings Kootenai Families,
I can hardly believe it’s MAY! This month will be filled with fun, excitement, and memories! Next week we will recognize our amazing Kootenai Crew, during STAFF APPRECIATION WEEK. If you are interested in providing support, please CLICK HERE.
This week we jumped into ISAT testing (3rd - 6th Grade) and in a few weeks we’ll start IRI (Idaho Reading Inventory) for Kindergarten - 3rd grade. We are really excited for our students to show what they’ve learned so far this school year!
As we dive into May, we would LOVE to see you at Kootenai, as there are MANY volunteer opportunities! If you are interested in presenting at CAREER HOUR, please CLICK HERE and if you are interested in volunteering for our final CROWS NEST, please CLICK HERE.
In addition, we have opportunities to participate for class FIELD TRIPS and FIELD DAY! Please reach out to your child’s teacher if you have any interest in volunteering--we’d love having you in our building to create shared memories TOGETHER!
Lastly, we’ve already started REGISTRATION for the upcoming school year! This is INCREDIBLY important since our class sizes have grown. Please save your child’s spot for next year by completing online registration (CLICK HERE).

SCHOOL ENROLLMENT
Enrollment is REQUIRED for ALL families (new and returning). Go to LPOSD's enrollment information page for details. All families MUST upload proof of residency (utility bill or rental agreement).
You MUST sign up for a Parent PowerSchool account at https://lposd.powerschool.com/public before you can enroll a returning student.
NEW and CURRENT/RETURNING families who would like to be considered for enrollment in a school OTHER THAN their zoned school ("open-enrollment") must fill out the open enrollment application.

SEE - TELL - NOW
All schools in Lake Pend Oreille School District utilize See, Tell, Now! -- a Student Threat Reporting System. The anonymous tip line is staffed by trained technicians who receive and evaluate tips 24/7. The tips are screened for accuracy and severity, then assigned to school points of contact or law enforcement, if applicable.
