Welcome to Kootenai Elementary
Welcome to Kootenai Elementary
Greetings Kootenai Families!
As we get ready to welcome March, we are excited for a month full of fun and learning ahead! We are kicking off the month with Read Across America Week, celebrating the joy of reading all around our school. Reading truly is a gift that lasts a lifetime, and it’s wonderful to see our students cozy up with books, share favorite stories, and grow as confident readers.
Be sure to join us for our Triple Play Fundraiser Night on Wednesday, March 5. This is a great opportunity to support our school while having some fun together. Thank you for always showing up for our Pirate community!
One of my favorite days of the year is also right around the corner—Student-Led Conferences! During this special time, your child will take the lead by guiding you through their classroom and sharing their hard work, growth, and progress. These moments of pride and reflection are so meaningful, and I truly appreciate you making time to celebrate your child’s learning journey.
A quick friendly reminder that Daylight Saving Time begins on Saturday, March 8—don’t forget to “spring forward” and adjust your clocks!
Looking ahead, registration for next school year opens on Monday, March 2 for new and returning students. As our classes continue to grow, we encourage families to complete online registration as soon as possible to secure your child’s spot.
Thank you for your continued support, partnership, and school spirit. It’s a joy to learn and grow together.
In gratitude,
Principal Bicandi

SEE - TELL - NOW
All schools in Lake Pend Oreille School District utilize See, Tell, Now! -- a Student Threat Reporting System. The anonymous tip line is staffed by trained technicians who receive and evaluate tips 24/7. The tips are screened for accuracy and severity, then assigned to school points of contact or law enforcement, if applicable.
