From the Principal

Dear Kootenai Families,

I am thrilled to extend a warm welcome to all of you as we gear up for the upcoming school year! While this marks my first year as principal, I am no stranger to our wonderful school community, having been a part of it for the past seven years, the last four of which as the assistant principal. I am truly honored and thrilled to take on this new role and continue to build upon the strong sense of community, collaboration, and academic excellence that defines Kootenai. 

As we set sail into the new academic year, I am eager to reconnect with our returning pirates and equally thrilled to meet our new and incoming families. That said, I am excited to invite you to our Open House event, which will take place on August 29th from 4:00-6:00pm. 

This is the perfect opportunity for students to drop by, meet their teachers, and get a head start by bringing in their school supplies. Our classrooms will be abuzz with excitement and anticipation, and I can't wait to see the halls filled with eager students and smiling families.

If you haven’t already done so, please complete all ONLINE registration steps before our Open House, to ensure your child is placed on a class list and eligible to attend the first day of school on September 5th. Please CLICK HERE to view information about registering your child. Our front office opens on August 22 and our lovely office staff, Christa and Debbie, can answer any questions you may have. 

Please take note of our newly updated daily schedule: The doors open each morning at 7:30am and, for the safety of our students, we kindly ask that they not be dropped off before this time since there will be no adult supervision available. School starts every day at 7:55am and dismisses at 2:20pm Monday through Thursday. This year, our early release day will be on Fridays at 1:20pm instead of Wednesdays.

I look forward to seeing each of you at the Open House and throughout the school year. Together, let's make this school year unforgettable, fostering a love for learning and creating lasting memories.
